Dear Elder Morain Fan Club,
Hey how has everybody been? I've been phenomenal this past week. I got to go on exchanges with the Zone Leaders and once again got to go with my good friend Elder Gillespie for our 4th exchange over the past 8 months of knowing each other haha. It was so much fun to catch up with him and everything seems to be so much better when hes around haha. We had a solid dinner appointment with the Wangberg family that night. Then we had an awesome visit with Chuck a cool member of our branch. But anyways it was a good time as it always is.
Saturday night an opportunity of a life time fell into my lap. So my companion and I go out to dinner, and as we are in line for paying our bill, this lady asks me "Are you singing tonight?" I was like uhh i dont think so haha. She was like oh, since you were dressed up I thought you were part of the Southwestern Iowa Community College Vocal Jazz Festival. I had no idea that was going on, but she explained that tonight, "The Worlds Best Accapella Group" was performing at the college here in creston! The group is called the, "The Real Group" and they are from Sweden and have been together for like 24 years. So we took the opportunity and went and saw them perform. It was such a rare occasion that this big of a group would come to little Creston Iowa.
Yesterday was a great day at church! My companion and I had the opportunity to speak in Sacrament meeting on missionary work! It was an emotional experience for me and I choked up at the end because the spirit touched me so strong as I testified of the importance of missionary work. I am so grateful to be a missionary here and I know that I am here in Iowa for a reason. I love you all and I hope to hear from ya sometime.
Until next week,

Happy Presidents Day America!
Dear Elder Morain Fan Club,
How has everybody been? "I'm lovin it" as McDonalds would always say. I had a fantastic week! I had many special expriences that I would like to share with you. On Wednesday night we had an appointmet with a girl we tracted into. We walked in her door and saw she had brought 3 other friends to hear our message! We taught them The Restoration of the Gospel (lesson 1) and it was amazing. They were really interested in what we had to say. We brought out a copy of The Book of Mormon and they reached out for us to give them a copy. They read over the pamphlet for the restoration and it was unlike anything I've experienced with investigators.
Thursday we had our District meeting in Osceola. On our way back to Creston we stopped at Mt. Pisgah. Some of you may remember me talking about visiting this place before last transfer. But this time I went we found some more artifacts that were left there from the early Pioneers when they settled that land. It is an amazing part of Church History, where Brigham Young sent forth the Mormon Battalion. They also have a monument for the 4 missionaries who were killed in a car accident back in 2001. They were driving on the high way from Creston to Osceola which is the Mormon Pioneer Trail! Many of the members in my branch knew the missionaries who were killed. Some of you who served as missionaries recently may recall the movie that is shown to us for driving safety training, the real life example they use in the movie is from the missionaries who were killed here in my area.
After we got back from Mt. Pisgah we went out with a member to visit some people. A guy came up to us and told us to go visit his sister who was in the hospital. She turned out to be a less active member of our branch. We went to visit her in the hospital. She told us that morning she recieved the news that she has cancer. We offered to give her a blessing and she accepted. The spirit was so strong that it brought her and her sister at her side to tears. It was a very spiritual experience.
I hope all of you have a spectacular week, I would love to hear from you and how your life has been goin for ya.
Until next week,

Happy early Valentines Day!
Dear Elder Morain Fan Club,
Holler from Creston Iowa! I have had quite the past week!
On Wednesday we drove up to Osceola and stayed the night with the missionaries there. Thursday we woke up and drove to Des Moines for our Zone Conference! I loved it so much and I've gained more of an appreciation for it. Since I live in Creston I don't see any missionaries so this was the 1st time seeing missionaries for like 6 weeks haha. Most of my best friends in the mission happened to be in our zone conference so that was nice. I had my interview with my mission president and he told me that I am most likely getting transferred next transfer! So I've only got like 4 weeks left here in Creston. I loved going up to Des Moines, we got to eat dinner at Fuddruckers, and those that know me well know I love that place haha. So it was a great experience to go up there and see everyone again.
I got sick the morning we woke up for Zone Conference though. It was the 2nd time on my mission getting sick, and the 1st was just a couple weeks ago haha. I am getting better though so thats good. I really appreciate good health now though.
Yesterday was an amazing day. Church was really good. Our Branch Mission Leader invited us over for lunch which was fun. Then he went out with us to Blockton and we visited a member that recently read some anti mormon literature. It was so sad to see how much she had changed, like a completely different person than from before. But our branch mission leader pretty much poured his whole heart and soul out to her and I felt the spirit so strong. I know she felt it too and I have faith that she will come back to the church. Then we had the opportunity to go teach our investigator Joshua. We were able to set a date for his baptism!!!!!! I was so happy to see him make the commitment to open the doors to the celestial kingdom. His dad told him March 7th(the day we set for his baptism) "March 7th will be the most important day of your life thus far" Joshua is 9 years old and just think of how getting baptized will change the rest of his life. I'm so grateful I have the opportunity to be a missionary and to be a part of helping another person gain their salvation. "I love the Lord in whom my soul delights"

Happy Groundhog Day America!
Dear Elder Morain Fan Club,
How has everybody been? I've been goin non stop since I last emailed ya guys. Wednesday we drove up to Osceola and spent the night with the missionaries up there. Thursday morning my companion Elder Thomas drove up to Des Moines so I was with Elder Norris for the day. We drove down to a city called Lamoni(some may recognize this name from The Book of Mormon!) Lamoni used to be the RLDS capital of the world! Now its in Independance Missouri. But they have their college, Graceland University in Lamoni. I got to see Joseph Smith III's house(Joseph Smith Jr.'s son!) who was the prophet for the RLDS church when they split off from our church. It was quite an experience down their seeing all these Amish people haha.
Anyways, I stayed the night in Osceola Thursday night as well. Friday morning our companions met up with us! I finally met my companion Elder Schwartz who is an awesome missionary! He is from Boise Idaho and is going home in 3 months! We are great friends already and were having a lot of fun. He just came from being a Zone Leader in Sioux City! So we have been talkin about all the members I knew when I was being trained in Sioux City.
So then we drove down to Lenox and started packing up our whole house. It took all day long but we got it all packed in the nick of time. Saturday morning came and we had members from our branch come with trucks and trailers to move all our stuff to the house in Creston! Once we got there it took us all day Saturday to unpack everything. So I have been crazy busy with all of that.
But all the work that it has taken these past 6 weeks to find a place to move and finally move to Creston is now worth it! We live in a way nice house, that has a garage! I'm excited cuz I don't have to chip off ice from the windshield now. O ya since my companion Elder Schwartz is "X'ed" from driving I am the designated driver! I haven't been able to drive for the past 7 months so I am excited to drive again. It will be a new experience for me to drive in the snow haha.
Anyways, I feel so blessed right now. When I got to Lenox 6 weeks ago things were rough. Some how I made it through those 6 weeks and here I am. I am living in Creston, 8 times bigger than Lenox. I have an awesome companion who I love. And the members here are being a great support to us. I learned so much about not giving up during your trials. I feel so much more grateful for what I have it really has opened my eyes. I've learned that trials in our lives help us grow and reach a level we could have never reached if we had not gone through them. I'm so grateful to be a missionary for this church that has blessed my life so much. Thank you to all who have supported me as a missionary these past 10 months, it really has helped me through the hard times. I've learned to truly rely on my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ when no one else is there, they are always there for me and that has given me so much comfort.
Until next week
